Graham Stuart, David Cameron, Dorothy Turner, Peter Turner

75 YEAR OLD DOROTHY TURNER is taking part in her first tandem skydive on Friday 26th October 2012, to raise money for the Beverley and Holderness Conservative Association (BHCA) and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Dorothy, who is the wife of BHCA chairman and Mid-Holderness Councillor Peter Turner, will travel to Skydive Hibaldstow and jump from 15,000 feet in order to raise funds for two causes that are very close to her heart.

Last Wednesday Dorothy travelled to Westminster, and dressed in full skydiving kit, met Prime Minister David Cameron, who commended her bravery and commitment.

Dorothy said, “I am looking forward to my first ever skydive, and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has donated money to one or other of my two chosen causes so far. It was great to meet the Prime Minister in Westminster last week; he was very supportive and even agreed to sponsor me.”

Local MP Graham Stuart added, “We all wish Dorothy the best of luck with her jump, she is a remarkable lady and I congratulate her on this daring and fantastic way to raise funds for these two causes.”

Anyone wishing to sponsor Dorothy should contact Sue Hedges at BHCA on 01482 881316.
