Holderness Vikings funded from Community First

Photo: Graham Stuart and Holderness Vikings TeamTHE FIRST PROJECT  to get funding approved from Holderness Community First is the Holderness Vikings Junior Rugby League Club (pictured last year with the local MP).

The funding will help the Keyingham-based Club to train new volunteers and buy new equipment.

The South East Holderness Ward has nearly £34,000 to spend over 4 years to fund community projects.

The priorities for the Community First funding in South East Holderness are:

  1. Increase the range of activities available for young people
  2. Increase support for older people
  3. Improve the health, wellbeing and welfare of residents

It is a ‘match funding’ programme, which means that every £1 provided in funding must be matched by a similar amount of in-kind donations (this might be cash, in-kind services, free products or volunteer time).

THE NEXT ROUND of the South East Holderness Community First funding closes on Friday 15th June 2012
