Planning ahead with Age UK

AGE UK held a special event in Hedon last week to publicise some of the services they offer to help residents prepare for the future.

We have summarised some of those services here:
Age UK Services001

  • Benefit Checks: More than £5 billion of means-tested benefits go unclaimed by older people every year.  Age UK can help you check if you are claiming everything you are entitled to. This might be through a confidential one-to-one discussion, or you can check out the charity’s Online Benefits Calculator at www.ageuk.entitledto.co.uk
  • Will Services: Making a will – or changing a will – is vital to make sure your wishes will be met after you die. Age UK runs a regular Wills Clinic with local solicitors at their offices in Beverley on the first three Fridays of the month. You can  arrange a free 30 minute appointment. They will listen to your situation and tell you how much it will cost to proceed
  • Funeral Plans: Age UK have a range of products and services provided directly by their trading company. The Age UK Guaranteed Funeral Plan is on of these and takes care of funeral costs and arrangements in advance. It is easy to understand and arrange. It aims to prepare for that upsetting time of your death and will help ease the pressure on your family and friends.
