Consultation on a Local Healthwatch for the East Riding

THE EAST RIDING LINk is alerting voluntary organisations and residents in the East Riding about the East Riding Council’s consultation on a local Healthwatch.

What will Local Healthwatch in the East Riding look like? asks the council who are inviting residents to submit their views and ideas about what the new consumer champion for the public and patients should look like.

Local Healthwatch will become operational in 2013, and aim to give a voice to those using health and social care services. It will help improve the design and delivery of those services, and monitor them to ensure they are of a high quality and meet the needs of local residents. It will also help people with NHS complaints.

An event has been organised at the Shores Centre, Withernsea on Thursday 30th August 2012 to provide an opportunity for people and organisations to give their views from 10am – 12 noon. ERYLINk suggests that you come along, have a cup of coffee and share your views.

For further information about local Healthwatch, or if you would like to get involved, contact Angela Ward at angela.ward@eastriding.gov.uk or telephone 01482 391492.

Information is also available on the ERYLINk website.
