THE GMB trade union has agreed to suspend its strike action today (Thurs 7th September 2012) after a positive meeting with Cranswick Country Foods yesterday.

Dave Oglesby, GMB Regional Officer, said “After yesterday’s meeting of GMB shop stewards and myself with the company it was agreed that the implementation date of changes to terms and conditions of employment has been extended. It was also agreed to suspend strike action whilst talks continue. Yesterday’s meeting was very positive. I look forward to working with the company and our members to reach an acceptable position for both parties.”

Further meetings will take place over the coming weeks.
