Holderness residents: We need your views – is it Beverley or Hull?

Do we have more in common with Beverley or Hull?

HU12 ONLINE has reviewed the transcripts of the Public Hearings (held in October 2011) into the proposed Boundary Changes.

If implemented, we could see South West Holderness Ward included within the East Hull Parliamentary constituency for General Election voting. It would mean that the Ward would be represented by an MP whose constituents mostly lived in Hull, rather than Beverley as is the case at present.

Quite a lot of the debate revolves around the extent of the relationship between Holderness – particularly Hedon, Preston, Paull –  and Beverley and Hull.

A poll, held on the Blog and HU12 last year, showed that the majority of those who took part did not support the idea of moving into East Hull for General Election voting. But now we would now like to delve a bit deeper into the relationships between Holderness , Beverley and Hull.

We invite you to take part in a more detailed survey into your views on this issue i.e. where do you shop, where do you go for entertainment, etc. The Survey has been running on the Hedon Blog since Saturday, and Hedon residents have been taking part, but we need some input from other Holderness villages:

We will publish the results next Saturday 17th March Sunday 18th March. Thanks for your help with this.

Note: Once you have finished the survey you go to the website of the company (Survey Monkey) behind the survey software. If you are not interested then just click away or browse back to HU12 Online.
