Community Cycling with Sky Ride East Riding

May 16, 2012 Filled under Community, East Riding of Yorkshire Council
1 Comment

EAST RIDING RESIDENTS are invited to register for Sky Ride Local and join in a series of community bike rides aimed at cyclists of all ages and ability throughout 2012.

Sky Ride Local rides are free community bike rides that explore the East Riding and are led by British Cycling trained Ride Leaders. The rides are at four different levels from Easy rides . If you’re looking for some fun, free, relaxed activities to enjoy with friends and family register now for Sky Ride Local in the East Riding. Under 15′s are eligible for free posters, LED lights, and other goodies after completing a number of rides.

Even if you’ve not been on a bike for a while the Ride Leaders are there to help and support you.

Rides will take place every Sunday from June until September. There are currently no Sky Rides planned in the Holderness area but this still might be of interest to local cyclists who want to explore the  beautiful East Yorkshire countryside on two wheels. Also through obtaining membership of the British Cycling organisation there is the opportunity to set up your own Social Cycling Group and routes.

Helmets must be worn by all under 18′s. You will need to bring equipment with you to repair punctures; Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.

You can register now for Sky Ride Local via the East Riding pages of the website (Editor’s note: We found a few annoying broken links on the website, but it is worth persisting with in order to get the useful information to be found).
