Disposing of that unwanted Christmas Tree

January 6, 2012 Filled under East Riding of Yorkshire Council
2 Comments

ADVICE on how to dispose of your Christmas tree from East Riding Council:

If your real tree has roots, we encourage residents to plant these in your garden as a first option.

We will collect REAL Christmas trees in January if they are left alongside your brown bin on one of your collection days. Please remove any decorations first.

All household waste recycling sites (rubbish tips) will accept REAL Christmas trees for composting. Please place them in the garden waste container at the sites; all decorations must be removed prior to disposal.

Please note: artificial Christmas trees should be placed in the general waste container.

I left my Christmas tree alongside my brown bin this morning but it wasn’t taken. It was left on the Main street!!!!

This article was advice for last year 2012 – not sure if it’s current?
