“Join our League” appeal to local football teams

SOUTH HOLDERNESS 3G are still looking for more teams to join their popular 6-a-side league already running on a Thursday night. The new season starts Thursday, 1st March 2012 and fixtures will run weekly from 7pm – 9pm, held at the 3G pitch.

Qualified referees and equipment will be provided and the registration is £15 per team, with a fee of just £20 per team, per match thereafter. Winners of the league will be presented with the cup at the end of each season, however team places are limited so early booking is advised to guarantee places.

Ed Grady, community sports coach, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people in the area to compete in a competitive league at the best facilities in the area. It is ideal for groups of friends, work colleagues or teams looking for extra training during the season.”

The Football Development Project is located at the South Holderness Technology College grounds in Preston.

The Football Foundation funded facilities at the site with the help of a £396,740 grant. The facilities, which only opened in April 2011,  include a brand-new third generation (3G) astroturf pitch and changing rooms.

According to the Football Foundation there are more than 30 football clubs located within four miles of the college and more than 30 FA Charter Standard Status clubs located within a ten-mile radius.

For further information or to book a place contact Ed Grady on (01482) 392531 or 07899 896638 or email ed.grady@eastriding.gov.uk
