Parish Councillors needed in Burstwick and Bilton

September 12, 2012 Filled under Bilton, Burstwick, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Local Government, Parish Councils
No Comments

THERE ARE VACANCIES FOR COUNCILLORS on Burstwick Parish Council and Bilton Parish Council – two new Councillors are needed in each parish.

If enough residents desire it, then the vacancies could prompt an election. By-elections to fill the vacancies would be held if 10 electors from each parish write to the chief executive of East Riding of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Yorkshire, HU17 9BA, claiming an election. In Bilton, the deadline date to claim an election is Wednesday, 19th September 2012. In Burstwick by Thursday, 20th September 2012.

If the chief executive does not receive such requests, each parish council will be informed that it may fill vacancies by co-option, which means that the council members will elect a new member from those who have expressed an interest in joining the council.

If you would like to discuss the role of Parish Councillor, contact the parish council concerned:

Burstwick Parish Council: Mrs P Hopper, 1 Church Row, Burstwick HU12 9ES at burstwickpc@gmail.com
Bilton Parish Council: Mr J Willingham, 30 Beech Avenue, Bilton, HU11 4EN at biltonparish@biltonparish.karoo.co.uk
