Bishop of Hull to consecrate Paull Cemetery

THE BISHOP OF HULL, Rt Revd Richard Frith, will consecrate the new Paull Cemetery on Wednesday 5th December 2012.
The consecration ceremony at the burial ground, adjacent to St Andrew Church, will begin at 12:00 noon.
Consecration is the setting aside of land or buildings for sacred use in perpetuity. The consecration of a church or a burial ground can only be undertaken by a Bishop. The law requires that a portion of a Cemetery be left unconsecrated in order to accommodate those of other faiths or none – and 50% of the new cemetery will be left unconsecrated.
The new cemetery is on land gifted to the community by the family of the late Alan Lambert, of Low Paull Farm.
You can find out more about the new Paull Cemetery on the Paull Parish Council website.
