Keyingham Music Tutor running the Jane Tomlinson 10k

KARL WILCOCK will normally be found near a guitar, piano or set of drums as part of his role as a music tutor. We wonder whether this knowledge of music just might come in useful when Karl runs the Jane Tomlinson 10k Run for All event later this year?

Karl(42), from Keyingham, is the founder of the Music Academy for Schools and Communities (MASC) based at the Arts Garage in the hamlet of Saltend. The ‘day-job’ is teaching classic and modern instruments or coaching people in the skills they need to set up a band.

However on Sunday 3rd June 2012 Karl will be joining 6,000 others in Hull in running the Jane Tomlinson 10k charity running challenge. Karl is running to raise funds for Dove House. This is not the first running event Karl has done – but the first for some time:

“I’ve done 3 great north runs (half marathons) before for all raising money for charities – Dove House, Cancer Research, and British Heart Foundation. The last run I did was back in 2005, so it’s a while since I’ve done anything. The charities are all related to illness’ family members have suffered with. It’s just my way of giving a little bit back.”

We wish Karl all the best in his running challenge and are confident that keeping his head full of the right music, tempo and rhythm will match and help improve his stride rate!

To sponsor Karl then you can either donate via the Just Giving website or call into MASC on Hull Road  to enter your details on his sponsor form.
