Planning for Waste Facilities – Consultation Event in Hedon

March 22, 2012 Filled under Consultation, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Events, Hedon, Holderness, Hull
No Comments

AS PART of their consultation into Waste Management East Riding and Hull City Councils will produce a complementary Joint Waste Development Plan Document. Once adopted it will guide decision-making regarding how waste should be managed, where waste facilities will be built and what policies are put in place to ensure this happens.

As well as including waste policy, the document will also list the details of sites which may be suitable for locating waste management facilities.

Officers from Hull City Council will be attending the Hedon Library on Friday 23rd March 2012, between 1pm and 3pm, to answer any questions on the Joint Waste Development Plan Document.

The HOTI campaigners (Hull and Holderness Opposing The Incinerator) will no doubt be re-enforcing their message that ‘No new incineration plants should be constructed in Hull or East Yorkshire’ but this also might be an opportunity to find out more about how all types of waste will be managed over the next 15 years.

Hull City Council is leading on this consultation and further information is available on their Consultation Portal website. The consultation period ends on Friday, 6th April 2012
