Who Cares, Wins – Humber NHS search for a caring star

AT THIS YEAR’S Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) of the Humber NHS Foundation Trust on 20th September 2012,  staff awards will be presented to those individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in delivering an excellent service.

The Trust is looking for help from the public to nominate a member of staff for the Who Cares, Wins award.

Every year at the AMM, Chairman Jane Fenwick personally awards a single member of staff for a particular shining quality, recognising someone who has gone out of their way in providing outstanding care and support with the prestigious Who Cares, Wins award.

“Last year the award went to Marjorie Brabazon, who worked with patients from Westlands acute inpatient unit and involved them in developing Reach magazine, a publication aimed at women, a voice for women. Marjorie displayed huge energy, dedication and commitment to involving patients and speed up their recovery.”

For this year’s winner, the Trust is asking for help from members of the public in recognising who is most deserving of the title. To nominate a member of staff that you feel really went that extra mile in helping you, a friend or family member then:

  • go to the Humber NHS Foundation Trust website;
  • phone the Chairman’s office on 01482 389107;
  • or write to Jane Fenwick at Trust Headquarters, Willerby Hill, Beverley Road, Willerby HU10 6ED.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 17th August, 2012.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the AMM, which starts at 12.30pm and will be held at the Country Park Inn, Hessle. It’s your chance to find out more about health services in your area and the Trust’s plans for the future. Tea and coffee will be provided.

If you would like to find out more about mental health, learning disability, community or addictions services in your area, you can become a member of Humber NHS Foundation Trust. E-mail members@humber.nhs.uk or call freephone 0800 915 5064 to find out more.
