Across three days a public exhibition bus is visiting residential areas near to Alexandra Dock and also Hull city centre. It aims to let people view the development proposals from Associated British Ports (ABP) and Siemens.
Applications were submitted to Hull City Council in late December 2011 for the development of a factory, office, storage and testing areas for the production of wind turbines and the erection of an operational wind turbine together with associated infrastructure. Representatives from ABP and Siemens will be on board the bus to answer questions regarding these plans while a tv screen will show a fly-through of the proposed development and leaflets will be provided to take away.
The mobile exhibition will visit the following locations:

4pm until 7pm at Victoria Dock Village Hall car park.Thursday 12th January

The public consultations will demonstrate what has already been achieved and what we hope to see develop as part of the complete transformation of Alexandra Dock. We hope as many people as possible take this opportunity to view the plans which will firmly position Hull as a centre of excellence for renewable energy.”
Dan McGrail, Project Manager for Siemens, said: “Submission of the planning application for Green Port Hull marks a significant step for the project and is the product of months of detailed work and consultation by teams in ABP and Siemens. We now look forward to discussing our proposals with the wider public at these important consultation events.”
Joint applications from ABP and Siemens are being made for the demolition of existing buildings at Alexandra Dock and the development of a factory, office and amenity facilities and a helicopter landing site, as well as areas for the storage, handling, assembly, and testing of wind turbine components.
An additional joint application is being made for the erection of an operational wind turbine together with associated infrastructure.
