Projects sought for Regional Growth Fund investment

THE HUMBER LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) is submitting a programme for the Regional Growth Fund 3, and is presently putting out a call for projects to be part of the programme.

The Regional Growth Fund is a £2.4bn fund operating across England until 2015. It supports projects and programmes that lever private sector investment to create economic growth and sustainable employment. It aims to help those areas and communities which were formerly dependent on the public sector to make the transition to private sector-led growth and prosperity.

The Regional Growth Fund requires bidders to draw down considerable private investment, therefore, for every £1 of Regional Growth Fund, £4 of private investment is needed. The aim of the programme is to create jobs, therefore the LEP is working on £20,000 for every job created.

The LEP is keen to draw this opportunity to the attention of those businesses who are seeking funding. Small to medium-sized businesses are eligible to receive funding.

Companies seeking funding need to be in the following sectors:

  • Renewables
  • Ports and Logistics
  • Chemicals
  • Food and food manufacturing

(These sectors can include advanced manufacturing).

Businesses wanting further details or to receive an Expression of Interest form should email l.benton@humberlep.org or ring Lynn Benton, Policy and Research Manager, on 01482 611838.

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday 13th June 2012.
