YW Community Fund Letter001THE COMMUNITY FUND promised by Yorkshire Water has been launched albeit without much media fanfare.

Customers in the areas of benefit should have got letters by now explaining about the new Hull Waste Water Treatment Works Community Fund which is described as “£50,000 to support local organisations… in recognition of the unpleasant smells from our waste water treatment works in previous years ”.

The fund will offer grants of between £100 and £5,000 to organisations providing benefits within the postcodes HU9 5, HU9 4, HU12 8, HU12 9 and HU11 4.

If you are part of an organisation that you think might benefit from the funding, contact Dafydd Williams of Yorkshire Water at e-mail dafydd.williams@yorkshirewater.co.uk or on 01274 69 24 12.

Applications for the first round of funding should be received before the end of August 2012.

The Hedon Blog has published an unofficial guide to the Community Fund which may interest those considering making an application.

Hi Jean – As it says in the article you need to contact Yorkshire Water at dafydd.williams@yorkshirewater.co.uk or on 01274 69 24 12.

Unfortunately, I haven’t got copies of the documents from Yorkshire Water to put on the website for downloading.
