1. HEDON Group Practice has a vacancy for a Receptionist.

The position is advertised on the practice website and is for around 16-18 hours per week plus relief cover. It requires flexibility in the hours worked, experience of working with the public, common-sense, reliability and good interpersonal skills.

2. A FANTASTIC job opportunity for an experienced Manager has arisen at Magdalen Park Nursing Home, recently nominated as one of the top three care homes in England.

The Place:

Magdalen Park is a new build nursing home which opened on the 1st September 2014 after an investment of £4.15 million. The home, situated on Magdalen Lane in Hedon, can accommodate up to 64 residents needing nursing, residential or specialist dementia care.

The ground floor is split into two units of 12 beds with their own sensory gardens with model animals and an allotment, dining rooms and lounge areas. Between the two units is our ‘street scene’ which includes a shop called Sweets and Treats, a hair and beauty salon and a pub called the Magdalen Arms. The first and second floors are for residents needing residential or nursing care. This area includes a large lounge with a library and computer station, entertainment room, conservatory and dining room. Both the first floor and second floor have outdoor areas, the first with a terrace off the lounge and the second floor having a rooftop garden including an artificial bowls green.

The Role:

As the Registered Manager, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for ensuring all care standards and other quality measurement criteria are met. Creating a safe, kind and caring environment for those that live with us is paramount, along with supporting and developing the care home team.

This role requires both hard work, commitment and dedication but when done well is extremely rewarding. The successful manager does not have to have nursing qualifications.

The current manager has been promoted to the head office team and will provide extensive support for the new manager.
