HEDON RANGERS under 7′s Football Team have had a couple of early Christmas Presents this year.

On Friday 7th December 2012 coach Pete Smith was presented with a cheque for £300 from the Yorkshire Water Community Fund as a donation towards football kit, training and other equipment for the new team.

Then on Sunday 9th December the local community showed its support for the club by turning up and enjoying the special “It’s all about the Bauble!” Christmas Fair.

The Fair raised £560 which will be shared between the team and the Preston Playing Field Charity.

Club secretary Katie Smith said:

I would like to thank the Cock and Bell in Preston, Main Street hairdressers, the Post Office, Paul’s Barbers, Sandhills, Parkers nursery, Preston butchers for all their donations to the raffle. Also every other local resident that helped with the day – including Father Christmas!

We were also given an additional £50 from Holly and Heidi Mayfield two local singers who collected during their performance at the Cock and Bell, Preston last night. Making a grand total of £610.”

The under 7′s cater for the youngest players of the 20 teams affiliated to Hedon Rangers. Each team has to raise its own funding.

The under 10′s Royals team was also successful in obtaining £300 from the Yorkshire Water funding.
