New Car Park for Community Hall

PRESTON PARISH COUNCIL met at the Community Hall this week; the first time since the new car park has been installed.
Following resurfacing work the whole area around the hall has now visibly improved, although some parish councillors predicted a few teething problems until regular visitors get used to the new ‘in – out’ system that vehicles have to follow when using the car park.
The new car park scheme involved resurfacing the whole are over the summer and marking out of car-parking bays, but also includes a new community noticeboard and new signposting to the Parish Council office at the rear of the Community Hall. A new easy-access ramp has also been installed at the parish office.
This completes a transformation of the Community Hall that began with the renovation of the hall itself in 2012. It will be the first anniversary of the re-opening of the Hall on September 15th.
The Parish Council, which met on Monday 9th September, was also looking towards other developments in the village and was delighted to accept a cheque for £1,500 from Nag’s Head licensee Mike Rouse representing funds raised for the Preston Play Park at the Hoedown held at the pub on 31st August 2013.
